Cameras, the wonderful things that man created to capture every moment of life and to help look back into the past.Way before the Air Clicker, We had humongous cameras with film rolls which caused a lot of probems in storage and then there was this whole process of the photo development that be almost impossible for lay men to do about. Then these cameras got smaller, but the storage medium remained the same. The came the digital era where the pictures were (are) stored in storage devices like SD memory cards. But the cameras did get slimmer and a bit smaller but here is the huge leap for the picture world, the Air Clicker.Even the most pocket-friendly point-and-shoot can’t compete with this new concept from Yeon Su Kim. The designer has created a mechanism where you can take picture with just your fingers.
The Air Clicker has Two small ring-like devices wrap about a user’s pointer finger and thumb. Then making certain hand gestures and connecting to your smartphone via Bluetooth, you send photos to your handset. The thumb ring has a power button and a camera lens to take the picture while the other piece holds tension-sensing silicon so it can read the positioning of your finger. Bending your forefinger will take a photo while cupping your hand captures video.
Well as of now, the concept of megapixels doesn’t really apply to the Air Clicker — the very design of the Air Clicker is what we are talking about here and not the further advancemetns (and such specs are unavailable). But with the proliferation and domination of smartphone cameras, it only stands to reason that consumers will appreciate the added convenience of the Air Clicker.
The innovation behind the concept of the Air Clicker is pretty mind-blowing, but its practicality is what could make it a reality. More and more people own smartphones, meaning more and more people are becoming casual (extremely casual) photographers, and for this demographic ease of use is the obvious motivation. And it doesn’t get much easier than moving your hands. However, we’re assuming the Air Clicker doesn’t have an outstanding sensor, nor does the Air Clicker come equipped with a flash, so in most cases it would take worse photos than your phone on its own.
Once again I remind you that this is harldy a prototype and just the first, there will indeed be many many advancements made to the Air Clicker down the lane and scientists will find a suitable way to bring it upto standards. But for now…. Oh.. My.. God!! This is AWESOME..
