Few days back we have seen hype all over for Google Wave. Now they have come up again with Google Buzz. Google Buzz has been officially released on 9th Feb 2010 and is the hottest topic nowadays. When I first peeked into Google Buzz the first thing popped up is “Are they trying to compete with Twitter or Facebook?” If you are using Twitter then you can get the idea quickly. Twitter and Facebook are the biggest Social Networking sites and recently Facebook has crossed 350 million users and in the last Christmas it has flipped Google from the top accessed site by users. So where are we heading with this? Can we conclude that Google is feared to loose the pride to be the hottest site on the Web and planning big way to take down Facebook and Twitter ?
First comes first – What is Google Buzz ?
Google Buzz is the social media sharing integrated with Google Mail. In simple words, you can share images and thoughts over the Buzz and it will be visible to all users following you.
How to use Google Buzz ?
If you are familiar with Twitter then you can share your thoughts with your friends or publicly through Google Buzz. But there is something more in it. You can integrate your Picasa, Google Reader, Twitter and Flickr account with Google Buzz.
If you want to look for a complete tutorial then look at the official video of Google Buzz posted in YouTube.
Key Features:
- No setup needed
- Share publicly or privately
- Inbox integration
- Connect sites you already use
- See updates in real time
Conclusion: So where is Buzz Heading ? Only time can answer this question but one thing is sure that over the time it will gain popularity as you can integrate your other profiles here. Very soon we can see some more added features in Buzz like tagging a Public Buzz or ReBuzz (like Retweet in Twitter).
Just before writing this post one of my friend Buzz this.
