Apple must be proud on declaring smash hit in the market. Actually, iPhone 4S was the upgrade over iPhone 4. Apple had managed to make the key improvements in this phone that made it competitive with respect to the other Android phones in the market.
The iPhone 4S is much faster then it’s previous version in terms of CPU as well as graphics performance. With these changes it has a capacity to beat most of the android phones in the market on benchmark. But now the problem has aroused. The iPhone 4S owner has reported problems regarding the battery life. A bug of Battery drain has homed into this set. Source says the battery drain is related to iPhone’s location services feature.
But after support Forum thread which is dedicated to iPhone 4S battery issues we will be sure that we cannot blame Time Zone for this problem. Time Zone is actually an iOS 5′s GM release bug which causes the setting time zone functions to keep the location tracking circuitry constantly running. And you cannot switch it off as switching it off means your iPhone will no longer set its own time Zone on travel. This thus we can say is a serious bug but many says the time Zone is not the only reason.
Some of the iPhone users has claimed that at best their devices only last few hours, even when they aren’t being used and is kept idle for long time. That’s stunning since the iPhone promises 200 hours of the total standby time.
One iPhone 4S user wrote to the Guardian “My battery life was extremely poor – 10 percent drop in standby every hour. I noticed that the usage figure was roughly half that of standby, even when the phone was not being used, so I assumed something was crashing or running in the background,” . “I switched off all the new features including Siri and location services, but it was still really poor. I also tried setting up a clean phone with no apps but it is still really poor.”
So what could be the real problem. This problem’s solution is still unknown. Apple engineers are busy contacting the iPhone 4S users inquiring about their devices. Most users are provided with the install diagonastic tool on their devices, and the Apple will analyse the result.
We can surely expect that the bug will soon be removed which is plaguing around this smartphone.
