Transparent LCD panels could be the next big thing in TV, and electronics giant Samsung has succeeded in developing transparent LCD panels. What does this mean to us? Well, if LCD panels could be transparent, it would be like installing them on shop windows and one would feel he is watching TV program on a window and not like an LCD panel installed over a wall in home. New billboards that are intelligent to display ads according to the age and gender of the viewer have already been developed, and now this transparent LCD panel has arrived.
Revolutionary concept for advertising
One can imagine schedules of buses arriving and departing on transparent walls made of glass using these LCD panes as well as display boards of shops selling lingerie and apparels making use of this revolutionary concept to make customers feel they are watching live models walking down the ramp. Samsung has already produced 22 inch LCD panel that is transparent and has already fitted it in the display case of a shop selling mobiles in San Francisco. Plans are afoot to now make 46 inch transparent LCD panels.

According to Samsung, the primary motivation for making transparent LCD panels came from the need to make advertising more dynamic and effective. There are other targeted segments like institutions and schools for interactive learning. It is possible to imagine windows of building being made transparent fitted with these LCD panels in future.
