Few Cool Android Apps for Car Lovers

Every day hundreds of people purchase IPhones and Android phones and their unique interests immediately become targets for application developers. There are applications available for every interest from cooking to cleaning, sports to music, cards to personal finance, and many more. No matter what the interest is, if there is a big enough group of people who share it, then a developer has created an app to help them enjoy it. Here’s a list of some of the coolest apps available right now to car lovers.

Torque
The Andriod App Torque is similar to the IPhone apps Carbonga and Rev. Torque allows users to get information from their car’s computer without having to visit a mechanic. One of the biggest secrets among mechanics is that they really don’t have to do much to figure out what is wrong with your car. Usually all they have to do is simply plug a cord into your car’s computer and voila, the computer will tell them what is malfunctioning and if not, at least the area in which the problem is located. In addition to Torque’s ability to diagnose your engine woes, it also can judge your car’s RPMs, speed, and fuel efficiency. The app can even turn off your car’s “check engine” light if you ask it nicely. Therefore, if you’re one of those do-it-yourself guys, this app is definitely worth the $4.95 purchase price.

Carrr Matey
For those of us who have a penchant for losing our cars in parking garages after a few days at a Las Vegas casino, the Android app Carr Matey makes us feel a little less embarrassed for doing so. Once you park your vehicle, the pirate-themed app prompts you to mark its location on a “treasure map.” Then, when your pockets are empty and it’s time to walk the plank back to your car, Carrr Matey will guide you back to your abandoned “ship” using your phone’s GPS. Definitely, much cooler than the Take Me To My Car app for IPhone.

Have2P
Have2P, for Android and IPhone, is as you guessed, a restroom locater. Instead of just telling you where the nearest place is where you can gracefully relieve your bladder, however, Have2P will show you cleanliness ratings and reviews from prior patrons and allows you to submit your own rating after having used the facility. Results are categorized into restaurants, gas stations, rest areas, and businesses. Also, check out the Gas Buddy app for IPhone and Android to help you locate the gas station with the best price in the neighborhood.

TripSplitter
Though only available on the IPhone, TripSplitter is a must have for group road trips. Every time you fill up your tank, eat out, or pay any other expense, just plug the details into the TripSplitter app so you guys can square up when you finally make it to your destination. It’ll even let you split things up unevenly if for some reason you are unhappy that your fellow road tripper ate four chicken wings at dinner and you only got to eat two.
